I met a 60-ish year old gems and minerals seller today and we talked about the international fossil trade for twenty minutes. As she was leaving, she clapped me on the shoulder and said, “Too bad, young man! You’re just too young for me.” Then she gave me her business card.
????
Hearing your stories strongly reminds me of encounters an ex of mine would have. And it always made me think, when they told me about their encounters, that it must be what it’s like for an alien to experience humanity for the first time.
An example. We were at Lush and an employee asked them, “Tell me about your skin?” Like wanting to know oily or combination or whatever.
Instead, they just started to rattle off Skin Facts™️. Like, skin is the largest organ and it holds all my insides in. Etc.
I feel like you’d enjoy knowing this person, Ship.
Your ex and I are constantly experiencing humanity for the first time over and over again.
