I just keep seeing this, and often from people who are otherwise well educated and informed!
AAVE (African American Vernacular English) is not for us to use. Using AAVE is appropriative. Some words and phrases that white people have been throwing around and need to stop using:

Thirst/Thirsty

Here’s a thought how about white people stop trying to tell other white peoples what is and isn’t racism
“God is good” is now AAVE??? Damn we better tell every religious person south of the mason-Dixon they’re a racist. “A'ight” is a fucking SOUTHERN CONTRACTION in the vein of “y'all” and “i’d’ve”. “Real talk” is another southernism. “Ghetto” is literally derived from German and originated in Europe. Something being “on point” derives from “en pointe” as in correct and in order. “Snow queen” ???? Context for this?? Any??? “Hot mess” has been in the southern lingosphere since I can remember. “Word is bond”??? As in your word is your bond??? What???
Jesus like 40% of this is southern American slang and 40% is gay/drag queen linguistic markers….which may or may not have been originally Black but the thing about language is IT CHANGES OVER TIME AND IS ADAPTED BY MANY PEOPLE AS NEEDED, SEE CREOLES AND PIDGINS.
God damn language prescriptivists need to get the fuck out of the linguistics-racism dialogue if they can’t even differentiate between southern dialect and AAVE good goddamn
