I got an e-mail from Steam saying 12 items in my wishlist are on sale.

I only have 13 items in my wishlist.

Best time of the summer.

Here’s a few tips I’ve learned over the years:

- if a title is less than 25% off, don’t buy it right away; there’s a good chance it’ll have a higher discount later on during the sale.

- if a title is more than 60% off, it’s probably not going to get any better than that, so go ahead and buy it if it’s one you want.

- a lot of times, a title that had been on sale for a day or two will go back on sale on the last day, so if you missed out on a temporary discount, you might be able to get it back on the last day of the sale.

That’s pretty much it, I think. Now go out and fill up your wishlists!

Oh, and if you miss a sale entirely, you may want to check out a website called Is There Any Deal?. (I think that’s what it’s called, idk just google it.) With a free registration, it lets you set up a Watch List, and when a game on your watch list goes on sale, you get an email. But here’s the thing, it’s not just for Steam; you can pick any or all from a list of about 20 retailers, including Humble, Amazon, PlayAsia, etc. It’s super useful if you really want a game and want to get the cheapest price.

(Also, if you use Chrome, download an extension called Enhanced Steam. When you browse a game’s Steam store page, it’ll tell you not only what retailer has the current lowest price, but also the lowest price of all time, so you can see whether or not you’re getting the best deal. It has some other useful features too, so try it out!)
