Watching a Haka is mesmerizing.

It is! Also I think i just had a ‘body type’ orgasm.

Is that Jason Momoa on the left?

pretty sure. :)

@her-incubus it is indeed, he was invited to do the Haka with the other members in order to honor his friend that was visiting that gym.

the guy in front with the red striped black shorts is so precise and sharp, i love how he moves.

hey, Humans Are Space Orcs people: how do we feel about human space marines doing a haka before a mission and their alien allies either peeing their pants or falling helplessly in boners with them?

I love babies and kids so much but I can’t see myself having kids long-term as in having my own kids so my goal is when I’m older and have my own place and work in the woods I’ll have a kids’ room and my best friends and cousins can send their kids to stay with their cool aunt Molly Anne for a week or two every summer where they can learn about wildlife and milking goats and making cheese and stuff and every year I’ll redo the room a little bit (ikea kids’ rooms make me so happy lmao) and they can just grow up always having a fun place in the woods to come visit and I’ll love ‘em and my friends and maybe I’ll even have a wife and her friends’ kids can do the same.

THE DREAM

a week seems like a long time but when I hit 12 I started spending a week or two at my cousins’ houses every summer and it was really wonderful.

All right kids, time to pack up your shit we’re going to cool Aunt Molly Anne’s shack in the woods for a week.

Mom needs a fucking nap.

I mean @thebibliosphere is already considered family so by extension that means you are right? I need my kids to go to a cool aunts house and learn woodsy things for a week or two!

me: *googles how to mash potatoes*

some food blogger: My childhood home was full of wind and light. On a brisk Autumn evening, it often felt as if the outside was in. My younger sister, my mother, our favourite cousin, our dog, our other dog, our dog’s sister, and I would sit on the floor in the living room for hours, lit only by the moon and candlelight

me: *scrolls for several minutes*

some food blogger: It was at that moment, with my tiny hands clasped tightly around a mason jar filled with fireflies, that I realised the true value of family. My dog and my dog’s sister came and sat quietly at my feet. We stared up at the sky together, and I felt truly connected to both the Earth at my feet and the ancestors who shared the blood that ran through them, for the first time realising that

me: *scrolls for several minutes*

some food blogger: and when we finally made it home, our cheeks flushed with laughter and cold, there were warm mashed potatoes waiting for us. I will always remember their fluffiness, perfectly mirroring the light feeling I carried with me for the entire next week. This is my favourite cousin’s recipe from that very day, modified slightly to not be fucking awful. Boil an potato and smush it up with fork and botter. NOT A RAW, Salt, pepepr. In it

Update on Catalonia: people are voting. The Catalonian police decided not to intervene, and apparently there will be legal consequences for that. The Spanish police are intervening, and the result is that people are getting hurt (38 so far, according to media reports). At some polling places, young people are forming human chains outside the doors so older voters won’t be disturbed. Again, I cannot stress enough how unsettling and plain terrifying this is. It’s possible we all got lulled into a fake sense of security way too soon.

The estimated count of injured people is now around 800. :(

the amount of loyalty that ABC has for Taylor and her songs is just so beautiful like the relationship between them is admirable. I mean taylor names one of her cats after one of their characters, they reference her songs/play her songs in shows and/or previews, taylor has the actresses in her music video, ABC literally uses her songs for promo the second they come out

it’s funny that OP is so pure that they don’t understand like…. licensing deals

and capitalism

Tag yourself I’m the idea that a multi million dollar media company is a person that’s friends with Taylor Swift

I think people would make much better decisions when it comes to dating if they stopped focusing on things like weddings and babies and instead focused on things like funerals and disappointment. What I mean is when I think about who I want to marry, I can’t just stop at who I want to meet at the altar. Because when you’re thinking about the person you want to spend your natural life with, that means the person who will be by your side when life is hard. When your parents die. When you lose your job. When your child is hurt. When bill can’t get paid. And when all of those painful moments come, you have to think “is this the person i want by my side? Is this the person who will be generous and giving when I’m in need? Is this the person who will find the words to soothe my aching heart? Is this the person that when I look across the room through tearful eyes, I want to, need to see their face?”

What I’m saying is when you’re thinking till death do us part, you really have to listen to the whole vow. The commitment is more than just walking down the isle. Its who you want to walk through life with.

file this under “men failing painfully at writing female perspective”

im gonna be honest i know this is “men being terrible at writing the female perspective” but i am so amused by the mental image of this guy just BANGING AROUND the kitchen holding his wine aloft so the FUCKING FLAMES OUT OF HIS FRYING PAN dont catch the wine on fire, and this woman just staring at him in horrified fascination from the doorway to the dining room.

he smiles at her. “dinner will be ready in just a moment, honey”

she does not respond. the contents of another pot catch on fire. the stove is being fed by cookbooks. whats happening? she doesnt know.

what if magic was real but it was treated the way music is now with different genres and like “oh youre still into conjuring? thats cool I guess. recently ive been getting into third-wave post-necromancy, it’s some pretty heavy stuff”

“what do you mean you’ve never learned FIREBALL, it’s a CLASSIC”
“idk I’m not really into evocations.”
“how can you not be into ANY evocations?”
“well, it’s kind of dad magic, isn’t it?”

DAD MAGIC

@copperbadge

I think I mentioned this before, but this is how music consumers talk about music they consume. This is not generally how music composers/performers talk about music they compose/perform.

So if we actually tried to imagine how magic practitioners would discuss magic (assuming magic took on a similar role in modern society to music) it would sound more like this:

You’re a spell maker rags who rags on these new upstarts who never learned to make a proper fireball.  Not because it’s “a classic,” mind you, but rather because “It’s foundational! It’s the most basic form and learning to do it well gives you a strong grasp of the underlying theory. People who skip learning this are weaker spell makers, and their work lack fluidity!”

Spell casters, meanwhile hate this new trend spell makers started of writing free-form verbal incantations. They hate it the same way instrumentalists hate music composers who write shit in ¼ time. What’s wrong with writing verbal incantations in iambic pentameter, huh? Stop trying to edgy!

Wizards who work private events are sick to death of ppl requesting the same 5 transformation spells. Every single wedding 8 different people come up and ask you, “Do the one where you turn the whipped cream on top of the wedding cake into a flying dove! The… the what’s it called again? The FREE BIRD!”

The finished “Fall Flower Fairy” dress and crown. I like how this dress turned out, I think it’s really cute and it makes me happy! Hopefully i’ll be able to get proper photos of in a pumpkin patch or someplace autumny.

The whole thing was made in a week from chiffon, organza, tulle, and sixty dollars worth of fake flowers. It was really easy and fun to work on.

I have three blog posts that about the process of making this, they can be viewed here. I also have three videos about it posted here!
