i know im a trans guy but this girl code is my favorite thing.
I’m a large sized, intimidating, bearded tattood, white male who often gets read as straight and neurotypical. I’ve had to use this on dates before. I recommend it to literally everyone ever who goes on tinder or Internet set up dates. I never go on first dates without setting this up now.
And if someone gets upset when you say you just have to text your friend occasionally that you are OK nope the fuck out and go. Just get out. Nobody with honest intentions will be upset if you say you need to text your friend every half hour to let them know you are OK. Psychos come in and prey on every gender, race and sexuality.

My friends and I always used a checkup “how’s the weather??” Text and if the response was anything but ‘sunny’ or ‘clear’ (like cloudy/stormy) we knew to call or go to them to help. It’s a little more casual too if your date catches a peek at your phone.
