New Jersey is getting screwed by the GOP.
Everyone who isn’t a millionaire or billionaire is getting screwed by Republicans. Trickle Down Economics is a scam.
Everyone is getting screwed, but it should be noted that New Jersey, New York, and California (and I think Illinois?) are getting especially screwed, because of the changes to property taxes and state/local deductions, which impact them most heavily.
This is important to acknowledge, not for some kind of oneupsmanship, but because the GOP consciously targeted blue states where they knew they don’t have as many supporters there, and wouldn’t be sacrificing their election chances in future elections by targeting them. (We should also note that these are states perceived to have large percentages of liberals and elites, as well as POC and Jews, and thus Republicans can hold it up as penalizing the Other in favor of regular white Christians, even though this is obviously wrong.) It’s a craven political move and deserves to be called out.
