A cat named Tibbles once started bringing dead dead to a lighthouse that were discovered to be a new species, the Stephens Island wren. They went extinct shortly after and Tibbles the cat was accused of being the only single living creature to eradicate a species.
What the fuck Tibbles
yeah this is the thing it was a flightless wren limited to just this one teeny island, where it previously had no predators.
introduce one cat. bam, extinction in I believe under a year.
I think there were other contributing factors from humans moving onto the island but yeah, that’s one successful cat.
Something about the tactical use of the word “accused” up there in the main post is just so, so good.
