This guy is working in the Emoji Movie
The joke is told by itself
i mean the emoji movie looks stupid and i’m not a tj miller stan but he was (ineptly) trying to say that humor is a sign of intelligence, and women’s intelligence (and therefore, their humor) are suppressed by a misogynist society. his exact words were that women are “taught to suppress their sense of humor during their formative years.”
“SOCIETY depresses humor in women bc it is a sign of intelligence,” he tweeted. “that is THREATENING to men, & so women are taught to suppress those intimidations. It is about SOCIETY’s ills, the misogyny of women’s humor. Don’t get it twisted. The world gets better the more we empower our literal better half. Women ARE FUNNY, against odds that men don’t face.” (x)
so i guess a better headline would have been ‘TJ Miller: Society Stifles Women’s Creativity.’
(sidenote, i think he voiced this opinion in a really incompetent way, but the way his words were twisted and taken out of context was just inflammatory.)
