Have you ever heard someone say something SO straight that you can’t even process it right away? Like it’s not homophobic or ignorant or anything its just SO straight that you have to sit there for a few minutes silently because your queer brain can’t even process it?

Exciting news!

Do you like pretty metal things? Knives? Wands? My partner of almost six years has officially opened up his blacksmithing for commissions! And actually editing and uploading videos of his work! He has a fancy schmancy website here!

Look at some of the cool shit he’s made:

A chisel knife!

An arrowhead sculpture!

A pendant he oxidized in cool ways! (If you want a pendant, he can make similar ones (or something completely different) for around $25-35.)

Wands! (sorry for the crappy picture, he hasn’t photographed it yet so I just took one with my phone)

Seriously look how beautiful this is

I’m so proud and happy for him and that he’s actually doing something he likes for a living and starting out as an independent craftsman!

If you’re interested in commissioning him, you can check out his site and send him an email to negotiate something!

ALSO, check out his youtube channel. A couple years ago he started work on a Bat'leth commission for a friend, and he’s put up the first video on that. Every view and like counts, so it would mean a lot for you guys to take a look!

Also, it’s us. Look how cute we are!

been seeing a lot of these takes complaining about straight people dressing gay and then getting mad when they’re mistaken for gay and oftentimes the anger seems directed more at straight people “copying” gay fashion than at the homophobia of getting angry at being mistaken for gay and that’s. not progressive

you might not want to hear this but. presentation, gender presentation, is entirely separate from sexuality. that means that while most butch women you see on the street might well be queer, possibly not all are, and a straight woman who wants to dress butch is not actually a threat to your sexuality/history/culture. it’s very strange that y'all think that straight women somehow have less gender trauma than queer women, even though straight women are the ones most commonly perceived as sexually available to men, even in queer spaces. a straight woman who reclaims her body by presenting masculine is not a threat to you. women reclaiming themselves from the patriarchy aren’t a threat to you, and the fact that you perceive them as such is deeply disturbing. denying straight women’s ability to have varied and complex experiences is the most bog-standard misogyny, I’m afraid to say, and plenty of you are guilty of it.

that is not to say that you can’t call out straight women for their homophobia. by all means, go ahead. but focusing on their presentation as inherently homophobic is just. you wanting straight women to “look” straight is also you wanting straight women to look like they’re sexually available to men, which they’re not. no woman is sexually available to men by virtue of existence or sexuality. you need to focus your attention on their homophobia and not on their presentation; vilifying them for presenting butch helps literally no one, least of all you.
