Many users are reporting massive data loss following the October 2018 Windows 10 update. Personal files are being deleted and hard drives are being corrupted in addition to several performance glitches. Users who have received the update are reporting all of their personal files such as documents, music, pictures, and videos being deleted following the update.

Some people have lost hundreds of gigabytes of data. These files are completely disappearing following the update – they do not wind up in the recycle bin, they are completely gone. Other users are reporting their entire hard drives or SSDs becoming corrupted, making rollback and recovery of said deleted files impossible.

In addition to the file deletion, devices with 6th generation Intel processors and newer are reporting awful battery life and CPU usage following the update.

Long story short, hold off on the October 2018 update for now. There are too many glitches and way too much to lose. If you attempt it,

BACK UP ALL OF YOUR FILES FIRST.

So, this picture crossed my news feed on Facebook yesterday and in my initial anger at the whole situation I shared it without thinking. Then I back tracked.

Don’t do this. 

Taking a knee during the anthem was started as a protest against the police brutality that targets black people. Co-opting this is not okay.

I looked in the comments of this and people were suggesting that instead women protest by turning their back to the flag during the anthem and suggested it might be symbolic of the way they feel that America has turned it’s back on them. I think that’s a much better alternative, personally.

hey guys! here’s some fun things i learned from this article about Dion Diamond:

he did these sit-ins by himself. like idk about you, but i always thought of sit-ins as organized by groups, what kind of bravery does it take, man

he didn’t tell anyone about it, like he was no glory-seeker about this. his parents didn’t even know until reporters started calling them up like “hey, did you know your son is in jail?

when someone called the cops he’d skedaddle out the back door although he was sent to prison multiple times

the last time he got arrested was in Baton Rouge, and the cops were so sick of him that they told inmates they’d put in a good word for anyone who gave Diamond a hard time. (the inmates didn’t take the bait.)

he’s still alive!
