here is every playlist i’ve ever made about being gay

ten hours of songs by women who love women for women who love women

the manic pixie dream girl trope but i’ve subverted it and it’s for lesbians now sorry straight boys

harold, they’re lesbians (swing for gay ladies)

the soundtrack to the lesbian romcom we haven’t got but should keep rallying for

the twentygayteen masterlist (every gay song released this year)

indie pop but it’s like…vaguely gay and makes me think about cute girls

very gay music from the 70s and 80s

modern pop songs every self respecting gay should know

the soundtrack to that lesbian indie movie we haven’t got but should keep rallying for (r u noticing a trend)

this is all music by women it’s not especially gay but i am so like every playlist i make is gay if i decide i want it to be

Think about why it’s illegal to hire a hit man.

All you’re really doing is speaking and giving someone money.

It’s legal to speak.

It’s legal to give someone money.

Even if they actually complete the job, you’re not the one who committed the murder.

So why is it illegal to hire a hit man?

Could it be because inciting violence is not protected under free speech?

And if that’s the case, why should free speech protect Nazis advocating genocide?

Never reblogged something harder in my life

A concept: An adventuring party made entirely of people of one race disguised as people of another. The disguises are really bad, like the “dwarf” is just a halfling with a fake beard, the “orc” is an elf with body paint and novelty teeth, and the dragonborn is just three goblins in a trenchcoat- but none of them have any experience with any of the races in question and are trying not to draw attention to their own disguises, so all of them are fully prepared to accept any oddity on the part of their party members.

The halfling, having just been caught taking off their beard in private so they can breathe: ….this is normal for dwarves
The goblins, who were looking for somewhere private that they can crawl out of the trenchcoat: Acceptable, have a nice day

Halfling: Friend orc, I don’t mean to alarm you, but the green appears to be coming off of your skin. Onto my hand.
Elf: I. Have a skin condition.
Halfling, discreetly adjusting their beard: Acceptable, have a nice day

the level of chaotic gay energy the McElroys are able to accurately convey in their queer characters despite being straight cisgender men is… genuinely astonishing and really should raise the bar for literally all other straight creators tbqh

like they really hit a commendable sweet spot of “I understand the gravity of representsting marginalized identities that are not my own” and “this is just another character” that really Works for me as a queer listener? because there is that sensitivity and making sure that identities are explicitly stated and treated with respect, while recognizing that it’s not really their place to tell a story About being queer. Griffin, Justin, and Travis all make clear that Lup, Taako, and Aubrey’s hardships do NOT stem from their identities, and it’s so refreshing because 1.) I don’t need background homo/transphobia in my fantasy, thanks and 2.) I especially don’t need those issues being used as plot pieces by straight dudes, thanks.

and that’s just like… never the case. it’s always “oh, she’s trans, and also the biggest badass in this game.” “yeah, he’s gay and dating the grim reaper, but also he’s about to turn into a t. rex so buckle up.” “she’s bi but more importantly she’s about to set a lot of things on fire.” it’s like… literally what I as a queer consumer want to see in my genre and the McElroys deliver like it’s no big.

hey everyone tagging this as q slur? meet me in the pit lmao

A part of being an adult is living with regret and not allowing it to consume you. The older you get, the more mistakes you’ve made, opportunities you’ve missed, people you’ve disappointed. And every day you have to remind yourself to be kind and forgiving of yourself. You accept and love the you from the past and understand that it’s all a part of the process. Then you move on and live your best life, knowing now as old as you feel today, you’ll never be this young again.

I love Gordon Ramsay so much.

He comes from a very poor family. His father was an alcoholic who beat him and his mother (he once poured hot tea over her and put her in hospital several times), his brother is a drug addict, he literally built an empire out of nothing.

He credits his mother as his biggest inspiration and often has her cooking in his shows.

When he left his first restaurant he pulled a successful Jerry Maguire

- the entire kitchen staff went with him. That tells you what he’s like to work with.

He was one of the first to give a restaurant to a female chef.

He went to prison (Gordon Behind Bars) and taught inmates to bake and they opened a bakery (Bad Boys Bakery) that is still running. He hired one of them when he got out.

He did documentaries about the cruelty of shark hunting and cocaine. (when he discovered cocaine was used by his staff he didn’t fire anyone but made sure they are offered treatment)

His kids are a treasure.

He is always ALWAYS kind to servers.

When one of his partners (Marcus Wareing) wanted to leave they got into a fight and settled it in court, they no longer speak to each other but this is what Marcus said about him after the fight:

I feel bad that the first association to him for a lot of people is this shouty TV chef when he’s truly a wonderful person.

Oh and then there’s this:

this entire episode

never forget that the reason he’s “shouty and angry” on his tv show is that he’s yelling at people who ignore the rules of courtesy and food safety and basically feed their customers poison, something which would enrage any good person

Uncle Gordon

Gordon is precious and I love him.

I’m really glad people post stuff like this because honestly yes, the only thing I knew about Gordon Ramsey at first was that he swears like a sailor. It’s good to know that he’s a much more genuine person than that. This is probably also a good example of how television can shape our perceptions of people; TV producers are going to focus on what gets the most attention, not on what is necessarily best or most true about a person. It’s good to be mindful of that while watching reality shows and movies.
