approach politics based on the content of what is being contributed. see what works, what resonates, what humanizes, and adapt + improve upon it. to approach politics based on a metric of “purity” with regard to influential persons from the past is to do nothing but hemorrhage yourself, because no one is “pure” (and nothing screams “bourgeois radical” more than feeling as if you have a pure selection of rhetoric). always historicize, and always remember that history is full of contradictions.
