can you imagine if we idolized lack of experience in other areas the way we idolize virginity
like if when you were growing up people always told you “the fact that you’ve never been on a plane is a special gift and you need to cherish it”
and there were lectures given in high school about how you shouldn’t get on a plane until you’re sure that it’s the most special plane in the world and it’s taking you somewhere you want to live for the rest of your life
and people tell you “if you get on a plane and it’s not perfect you’ll always regret it”
and people signed pledges and wore rings signifying that they’d never been on a plane
and when you were drinking with your friends as an adult they’d be like “hey, what’s your first time getting on a plane story”
