Aya Kamikawa (上川あや)

“A Tokyo municipal official, the first openly transgender person to seek or win elected office in Japan. She was elected in April 2003. Kamikawa, then a 35-year-old writer, submitted her election application papers with a blank space for “sex.”

She won a four-year term as an independent under huge media attention, placing sixth of 72 candidates running for 52 seats in the Setagaya ward assembly, the most populous district in Tokyo. Despite an announcement that the government would continue to consider her male officially, she stated that she would work as a woman. Her platform was to improve rights for women, children, the elderly, the handicapped, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people.

In April 2007, she was re-elected to her second term, placing second of 71 candidates running for 52 in the same ward assembly. She is the only openly transgender official in Japan at this point.” x x

Ai Haruna (はるな愛)

Ai Haruna is a singer, actress, and businesswoman. Growing up she experienced a lot of pain and hardship due to the ignorance of her parents and Japanese society as a whole. However, this didn’t stop her from living out her childhood dream of becoming an idol and tv-personality. x x

Kayo Satoh (佐藤かよ)

She is a fashion model and particularly famous in the fighting game community. She was born in Nagoya and after she graduated middle school she ran away from home because of the pain she experienced in a society that didn’t understand her. That night, she went to her childhood friend’s house, who lent her clothes that suited her. She then worked at a convenience store, and 4 years later she got a job as a clerk at a women’s clothing store. Soon after, she was scouted by a modeling agency which she still works for. x

She has a book called Re-born on amazon

Ataru Nakamura (中村・中)

“a Japanese pop singer-songwriter, as well as being an author and actress. She is most recognised for her song ‘Tomodachi no Uta’, which was used as the theme song for the drama Watashi ga Watashi de Aru Tame ni (in which she also appeared as an actress). She’s also known for being one of the few openly [transgender] celebrities in Japan, having been [assigned male at birth], and has spoken of the struggles she underwent with issues of identity before transitioning. In 2006, she signed to popular record label avex trax, and in 2010 moved to Yamaha Music Communications.” x x

draw women in post-apocalyptic world settings with armpit hair, leg hair, bushy brows and pubic hair ya cowards,, draw brown women/women with dark thick hair with arm hair and happy trails and sideburns and mustaches i’m sick of seeing silky smooth soapy clean make up wearing post apocalyptic dolled up women next to stinky sweaty crusty men with dirty nails and sweaty clothes and sweaty greasy hair and 3m long ugly beards

or, if you must depict women maintaining that shit, at least be interesting about it. I can actually buy someone shaving/putting on makeup if that’s their way of coping, something they do to tether themselves to the past or an ellusive feeling of normalcy. So show me the EFFORT put in, yeah? Show that woman risking a zombie horde because she spotted a fucking tube of scarlet lipstick and christ she hasn’t seen that color in five years but it’s what she wore on her first date with her now-dead husband. Show me the girl who is quietly starting to fucking lose it but covers it up with fanatical commitment to her appearance because if she gets these eyebrows right, maybe no one will notice how she stares at things that aren’t there.
I find it completely plausible that some women would go to incredible lengths to maintaining their appearance, because they’ve been socialized all their lives to caring about it, because it’s a part of their identity. So show me how that part gets negotiated with once the world has gone to hell.

Catch me in your local bunker doing a smoky eye with the ashes of my former life.

do microwaves in other countries have different quick setting buttons? are american microwaves the standard? do people outside the u.s. have a potato button, is what i want to know.

Mexican here, we have potato button

I’m in Brazil and here we don’t have a potato button, we have a rice button.

I’m from the Netherlands and we have a potato button:)

In Scotland and we have a potato button but not on all microwaves just the nice ones.

In France I had a microwave with a chicken button and a breadloaf button

I’m from England and I didn’t know potato buttons were even a thing

Potato Button:

United States

Mexico

Canada

Netherlands

Posh Scotland

Rice Button:

Brazil

Breadloaf Button???:

France

No Dedicated Carbs Button:

England

okay i got sick of waiting for answers so i hopped onto some international versions of amazon and here is what i found:

australian amazon only sells books?? what the fuck

same for chinese amazon but that’s not as surprising

german microwaves have a potato button, but only when there are buttons. most of these things have dials. like… what. only weird fancy american microwaves have dials. also i saw a yogurt button.

indian microwaves seem to generally feature a ‘stuffed veg’ button instead of a potato-specific button. there is also a rice button. but do you know what else is standard. A GODDAMNED CHICKEN TANDOORI BUTTON. FUCK ME.

german and indian microwaves both had beverage buttons, which was not a surprise, but they also both had pizza buttons, which WAS a surprise. the indian microwaves called it a bread snack but it was clearly a picture of a pizza. why is the pizza button more universal than the potato button??

japanese microwaves have rice buttons and not potato buttons. no surprises there. the big surprise is that they also favor the dial. for that matter india had a lot of microwaves with dials, too. what gives. why the dials. where are your flat, easy to clean buttons.

according to italian amazon, in italian you call a kitchenaid stand mixer a “robot da cucina”. that is the cutest fucking thing i have ever heard. but back to microwaves. once again i’m seeing a lot of dials. you know these aren’t real ovens, right? why are you adjusting the strength so much. keep it on high and hit the one minute button. stop complicating things with dials. a lot of these are just rebranded german microwaves, so there is a potato button, and also a yogurt button.

see above for spain. y’all just have the same microwave. spain’s amazon is a lot less intuitive than every other country’s. i don’t know why. spanish amazon, please fix your menu system. it is wrong.

This concludes my fact-finding mission. Australia, why are your microwaves so mysterious.

I love the words “potato button”

I deeply admire the OP’s devotion to cross-cultural microwave studies and potato button data.

Black women really are on another level 👑

👏👏👏👏👏👏

There is not one thing magical about this. She shouldn’t have to do this. Are y'all serious right now???? Like y'all should go read about how the father basically just shows up to sleep with her and she ends up pregnant again because she has a condition that makes her ovulate more than necessary and in turn her body rejects birth control and almost kills her. 😒 Quit calling black women that have to go through shit like this magical. Yes, she loves all her children, but the whole situation is stressful. Imagine the toll this takes on her body, and most of her kids hella young and can barely do for themselves. Stop calling these situations magical because she’s black and has no choice but to survive how she can with her kids, while the father does nothing.

^^^

I need a trustworthy gofundme for this woman. I’m going to look into this.

I need a way to support her MONETARILY, because using hand clap emojis to somehow applaud her for being hyper fertile and a man using her and leaving her isn’t cutting it. No.

Her GoFundMe: http://ift.tt/2sG3Kt6

She is only asking for 10k and so far she is at $1,000. I am definitely donating some money.

There are some heartless comments in the notes calling her irresponsible and careless. Those people have obviously not taken the few minutes to watch this heart wrenching video.
