Shout out to all your internet friends who are gone.

Those messenger screen names that haven’t logged on in ages, some before detailed profiles were a thing on those services.

Those emails that are long since abandoned, some with domains that no longer exist.

Those online friends you knew years ago and who then helped shaped you in some way, who you just can’t FIND anymore.

Those people who once were, and hopefully still exist IRL, that seem to have no known internet life anymore.

And those who have actually passed on, and their online lives are now a memorial to them.

I miss you all. I hope life is/was kind to you, and maybe one day, we’ll somehow connect again.

I wanted to draw the moment where they just finish the dance and they’re staring at each other like “Wow, we just did that.”

That moment where you realize your performance broke all heteronormativity in pair skating and defied those who said it was physically impossible,,,yes.i know it’s an anime but an idea as obscure as same sex pair skating being presented to a wide audience is just…such wow. This rlly is an important scene when you remember how the irl ISU bans this type of pair skating in official events, and the thing is..same sex pair skating does exist and there are some amazing videos online but same sex pairs in skating is still some uncharted territory and it’s not as mainstream as it should be,the isu doesn’t allow this type of skating and that’s why this scene is so important,it’s basically flipping off real world restrictions and heteronormativity and *sighs* stammi vicino is ..bc of that a far more powerful song,,and this 40 second clip of two men skating with each other is that more important bc of it

Bringing this back because yes to all of what they said 😭

An Idea To Prevent A Nuclear War

“My suggestion was quite simple: Put that needed code number in a little capsule, and then implant that capsule right next to the heart of a volunteer. The volunteer would carry with him a big, heavy butcher knife as he accompanied the President. If ever the President wanted to fire nuclear weapons, the only way he could do so would be for him first, with his own hands, to kill one human being. The President says, “George, I’m sorry but tens of millions must die.” He has to look at someone and realize what death is—what an innocent death is. Blood on the White House carpet. It’s reality brought home.”- Richard Fisher, Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists (1981)

Never forget that part of the reason this system was never implemented was that when he presented it to his colleagues, their response was IIRC “George, that’s terrible! If he has to take an innocent life, he may never press the button.”

but thats like the whole fucking point

The depressing part is that the people who vetoed this idea really didn’t grasp the irony of doing so in the slightest
